Richard A. Coblens

VP of Sales, U.S. East | Wasion Americas

Richard Coblens serves as Vice President of Sales for the U.S. East at Wasion Americas, where he is responsible for driving portfolio sales across the Eastern United States in partnership with leading manufacturer’s representatives and distributors. With more than 37 years of experience supporting the electric utility industry, Richard brings deep expertise in metering technology, product development, sales engineering, and large-scale customer engagement.

Throughout his career, Richard has contributed to some of the industry’s most recognized metering advancements. He managed the design and development of the SENTINEL® Meter and was instrumental in helping utilities adopt AMR while providing a path to AMI with the innovative “Bridge Meter.” His background spans product management, business development, OEM integrations, and strategic account leadership across electric and gas portfolios for U.S. investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal utilities

Before joining Wasion Americas, Richard held a wide range of roles at Schlumberger and Itron, including Portfolio Account Manager, Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, Product Manager, and Product Line Manager for Polyphase Metering and 600V Instrument Transformers. His early career in application engineering and field sales built the foundation for his long-standing customer partnerships.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BEE) from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Outside of work, Richard enjoys time with his wife Janet, and children Max, Megan, and Marli, along with their dogs Sammy, Pepper, and Tucker. His interests include playing golf, watching soccer and tennis, and trying his hand at a variety of card games.
