EVP of Sales | Wasion Americas
John is the Executive Vice President of Sales at Wasion Americas, where he leads a best-in-class sales organization responsible for delivering the highest quality products to U.S. and Canadian electric utilities. He oversees the end-to-end customer experience, sales strategy, team development, and market expansion for Wasion Americas’ portfolio, driving performance, customer engagement, and long-term growth across North America.
With more than 28 years of experience in the utility technology and solutions industry, John brings deep expertise in sales leadership, AMI and grid modernization programs, strategic partnerships, and complex utility sales cycles. Before joining Wasion Americas, he served as Vice President of Sales at Aspen Technology and spent nearly two decades at Itron, where he held leadership roles including Area Vice President of Sales and Sales Director. In these roles, he managed major investor-owned utility portfolios, cultivated large-scale AMI solution opportunities exceeding $410 million, developed alliance partnerships, and supported regulatory engagements as a subject matter expert. He also regularly taught courses at Texas A&M Meter School and other utility training programs.
John began his career at Schlumberger, where he managed sales of electric and gas metering solutions and helped pioneer early e-commerce procurement practices for utilities. Over his tenure, he built strategic alliances with key electric and gas IOUs from the West coast to the East coast and helped build complex solutions for his customers.
John holds a degree in Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering) from Texas A&M University.
Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his family on his ranch hunting, fishing, working cattle and bees, and being close to nature.
